CUBETTES ROLL PAST MONTGOMERY/LADY PANTHERS FALL AT CALDWELL

The Brenham Cubettes made it a clean sweep over longtime rival Montgomery, Tuesday night at Cubs Gymnasium.

In the Cubettes’ home opener, Brenham (17-13) rolled past the Lady Bears, 3-0 (25-22, 25-20, 25-23).

Hadley Webb and Ashley Homan led the Cubettes’ attack, as Webb registered 18 kills and Homan had 11.

Jordan Wellmann made 13 digs, while Kaci Pecht dished out 16 assists and had four service aces.  Kelly Jurden added 14 assists and Hanna Schwartz also served four aces.

The Cubettes are open this weekend and will be back in action next Tuesday when they travel to Richmond to face Foster.

The Burton Lady Panthers fell in three games to power-house Caldwell Tuesday night on the road.

The Lady Hornets swept the Lady Panthers, 3-0 (25-16, 25-13, 25-20).

Blaire Smith led the Lady Panthers (7-11) with 11 kills and 14 digs.  Kyeanna Kincade added seven kills, while Rhealee Spies had 12 digs and Emma Broesche made 10 digs.  Haley Nutt led the team with 15 assists.

The Lady Panthers return to action Friday night at Smithville.
