CUBS EARN SHARE OF DISTRICT TITLE WITH WIN OVER MAGNOLIA WEST
The Brenham Cubs jumped out to a big early lead and never looked back as they ripped Magnolia West in the regular season finale, 72-50 at Cubs Gymnasium, Tuesday night.
Brenham rolled to a 22-8 lead by the end of the first quarter, and increased their lead to 40-20 by halftime.
Senior guard Antoine Lister led the Cubs with 26 point, while Cjay Miles added 14 and Matt Adams scored 12.
The win also earned the Cubs a co-district championship, as Tomball defeated Stratford, 65-63.
The Cubs and Spartans finish 19/5A play with identical 12-2 records, with each team winning a head-to-head matchup.
The two will decide how to break the tie as far a playoff seedings are concerned, later Wednesday.
In other district play: Magnolia 81 Waller 68; Spring Woods 56 Tomball Memorial 53.
