CUBS FOOTBALL HOSTS TOMBALL ON ‘HALL OF HONOR’ NIGHT

The Brenham Cubs will try to remain unbeaten in district play tonight as they host the Tomball Cougars at Cubs Stadium.

The Cubs (5-1/3-0) are coming of an exciting 31-28 win over Tomball Memorial last Friday night, while the Cougars (2-4/0-3) fell to Waller, 24-21.

Tomball, despite the 0-3 district mark, is second in 20/5A in offense, averaging over 435 yards per game.  Cubs Head Coach Glen West says it all begins with the Cougars’ talented quarterback, TyrinTaylor…

Defensively, the Cougars are seventh in the district, yielding over 392 yards per contest.  However, Coach West says they can still make things tough on the Cubs’ offense…

Kickoff is set for 7:30 tonight at Cubs Stadium.  The game can also be heard on KWHI and www.kwhi.com beginning with the pre-game show at 7:00.

Today is also Hall of Honor Day, with three former Cubs greats being honored at a luncheon at 11:30 at Blinn’s Student Center banquet room.

The Class of 2016 includes: Elvis McBride, J.J. Kelly and Mathis Gill.  The 1999 Cubs team will also be honored.

Coach West says this is always a special day for Cubs football…

The honorees will also be recognized prior to tonight’s kickoff at Cubs Stadium.
