The Brenham Cubs opened up the 2017 football campaign Monday morning with workouts at the Kruse Field House.

The Cubs began with their traditional mile-run and 40-yard dashes.

The team then began working out in shorts and t-shirts for the first few days.

Practice begins each morning at 6:30 until school starts, Wednesday, August 16.

The first day in pads is set for this Friday.

The Cubs will have two scrimmages: Friday, August 18 at Manvel and Friday, August 25 at home to Round Rock Westwood.

The Cubs’ season opener is set for Friday night, September 1st when the Cubs travel to Delmar Stadium to face Houston Westside.

The home opener is the following Friday (9/8) against Elgin.

The District opener is September 29th at Magnolia West.

Brenham returns 12 starters from the team that went 8-4 in 2016, advancing to the Area round of the playoffs.
