CUBS & PANTHERS SET AREA PLAYOFFS

The Brenham Cubs and Burton Panthers have set their Area Round playoff games, scheduled for later this week.

The Cubs will face Crosby in a best two-out-of-three series, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Game one will be Thursday night at 7:00 at Crosby, with game two Friday night at 7:00 at Firemen’s Park in Brenham.

If necessary, game three will be Saturday at noon at Sugarland Clements.

The Cubs swept Georgetown Eastview, 12-1 and 11-1 in the Bi-District playoffs.

Crosby defeated Port Neches-Groves, two games to one; dropping the opener, 9-1, then coming back with wins Friday (6-4) and Saturday (7-2).

The Panthers will face Thorndale in a best two-of-three, Friday and Saturday.

All games will be played at A&M Consolidated High School, with game one Friday at 7:00 and game two Saturday at 1:00.  If game three is necessary, it will follow game two by 30 minutes.

The Panthers won their district and drew a bye in the Bi-District playoff.

Thorndale swept Iola, 3-1 and 11-3.
