CUBS PULL AWAY FOR 21-POINT WIN
The Brenham Cubs upped their mark to 2-0 on the early season as they downed Bay City, on the road, 56-35.
The Cubs (2-0) jumped out to an early 7-2 lead after a slow start by both teams.
The scoring picked up in the second quarter as the Cubs took a 19-15 lead into the lockerroom.
After a back-and-forth third quarter, the Cubs outscored the Black Cats, 23-8 in the fourth quarter, pulling away to the 21-point win.
Iterrian Martin led all scorers with 21 points. Ja’Corey Colvin scored 12; Davis Watson, 10; and Chase Brooks added nine.
The Cubs will be back on the road Monday, as they travel to Gidding for a 7:30 game against the Buffaloes. The Cubs’ next home game will be next Tuesday against defending State 1A Champ, Mumford at 6:00.
