CUBS ROLL PAST WALLER, 10-1

Chris Kubeczka went the distance, yielding just one earned run and striking out 10, as the Brenham Cubs rolled past the Waller Bulldogs, 10-1.

Kubeczka (4-1, 0.73 era) threw just 94 pitches in the complete game victory, upping the Cubs to 17-8 on the season, 6-3 in District 20/5A play.

The Cubs scored twice in each of the first three innings, then busted the game wide open with two runs in the sixth and three in the seventh.

Eric Wellmann and Pierce Weiss each homered and drove in two runs, while Jake Olson had three hits, with a runs scored and two rbi’s.  Colton Boro added two hits and two rbi’s.

The Cubs will travel to Tomball Memorial (16-7/5-4), Friday night for a 7:00 p.m. ballgame, that can be heard beginning at 6:40 on KWHI/www.kwhi.com.
