The Cubs enter the game 13-5 on the season, with a 6-0 district mark.  The Bulldogs are 5-1 in district play, 16-2 on the season.

The Cubs are coming off a 6-1 win over Huntsville, Friday night—the 1500th win in school history.

Meanwhile, the Bulldogs suffered their first district loss Friday, falling at Willis, 5-3.

The Cubs are expected to start Chandler Jozwiak (4-1, 1.20 era) on the mound, with Eric Wellmann (4-0, 1.06) and Dane Acker (2-0, 0.00) ready if needed.

Zach Marshall has helped pace the Cubs’ offense, leading the team in batting (.441) and runs batted in (17).

Acker lead the team in runs scored (14), while leadoff hitter Hunter Avila had raised his batting average (.250) nearly 100 points since the start of district play.

The Cubs’ offense has relied on a myriad of players so far this season, with seemingly someone different stepping up each game.

First pitch in Magnolia is set for 7:00, with KWHI’s broadcast set to begin at 6:40 with Ed Pothul and Tommy Lange.
