CULVERT COLLAPSE IN BURLESON CO.

  

A Burleson County culvert collapse, has led to a road closure expected to last until at least Wednesday night.

According to TxDOT spokesman Bobby Colwell, employees shut down a portion of F.M. 1362, Tuesday, after the pavement caved in on itself.

Both north and southbound lanes of the road are shut down until at least tonight as workers establish temporary support. Motorists are asked to plan an alternate route, as no detours have been established at the time.

Colwell says the culvert -- located between Highway-21 at Cooks Point and the intersection of FM-166 -- is not considered as one damaged by Hurricane Harvey, but it is 25 years old and bears the weight of nearly 900 vehicles daily.
