DENTIST PLEADS GUILTY TO VIDEO CHARGE

A Bryan dentist has been sentenced to 21 days in prison for taping a female employee changing in his office restroom.
Sixty-seven-year-old William Birdwell pleaded guilty Thursday in Bryan to improper visual recording.
Birdwell was appointed to the Texas Board of Dental Examiners by Gov. Rick Perry in 2009 and resigned after being arrested in May.
He also retired as a partner at Birdwell & Wright Family and Cosmetic Dentistry shortly after his arrest.
The employee says she discovered the camera in the bathroom while she was changing clothes. Birdwell initially denied any wrongdoing before confessing to police. He says he filmed the woman twice.
Birdwell was also sentenced to four years of probation. He'll have to complete 80 hours of community service and undergo a psychological evaluation.
