DINNER AND A MOVIE TONIGHT AT SIMON THEATER

The Barnhill Center at historic Simon Theater in Brenham will feature a romantic dinner and a movie this (Saturday) evening.

A gourmet Italian meal from Volare’s Italian Restaurant will be served in the Bullock Ballroom overlooking downtown Brenham at 6 o’clock this (Saturday) evening. At 7:30, the classic love story movie “Dirty Dancing” will be shown in the Hasskarl Auditorium. While it’s too late to make reservations for the dinner, tickets are still available for the movie at www.thebarnhillcenter.com.

Tonight’s (Saturday’s) Dinner and a Movie is just one of the many events planned this year at The Barnhill Center. Later this month on Saturday night, February 24th, Brenham native singer/songwriter Darden Smith returns for a concert.

Fundraising efforts continue to complete the Simon project, including areas for meeting rooms and a conference center. Hal Moorman, a board member for the non-profit Brenham Main Street Historical Preservation group, recently announced a major donation. Nationally known radio talk show host Don Imus has donated $150,000 to the project. Imus owns a home in the Gay Hill area of Washington County.
