DIXIE ROAD TEMPORARILY CLOSED THIS WEEK
Beginning today (Monday), weather permitting, the Texas Department of Transportation’s (TxDOT) contractor will temporarily close Dixie Road where it intersects with SH 36. 
Dixie Road is expected to reopen on Friday, February 17th.
The closure will allow the contractor to complete the concrete pavement for the new southbound lanes of SH 36. A signed detour will be in place to direct traffic to use Berlin Road, US 290 and SH 36.
This work is part of a $14.3-million project to widen SH 36 to a four lane divided highway between US 290 West and BS 36 in Brenham. The project is expected to be complete by spring 2018.
TxDOT reminds everyone to obey all warning signs, watch for workers and equipment, buckle up and drive safely.
