DPS REPORTS HIGHWAY DEATH IN OLD WASHINGTON
Authorities are investigating the traffic death of a Washington County man over the Labor Day weekend.
According to the Department of Public Safety, 64-year old William Gray of Brenham was south-bound on Brown College Lane in Old Washington, Sunday morning around 7:00 a.m. in heavy fog.
Gray, driving a Ford F-150 pickup, says he thought he’d run over an animal laying in the road.
When he went back, he discovered the body of 56-year old Oddis Zephyr laying in the roadway.
Zephyr was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Doug Zwiener.
The scene was investigated by DPS Trooper Quinton Smith.
