DRUG DOG FINDS MARIJUANA

  

The Brenham K-9 Unit is being credited with sniffing out marijuana during a Tuesday night traffic stop near downtown.

          Brenham Police Officer David Dudenhoeffer stopped  an older model Buick LaSabre at 9:39 pm, for a defective brake light, at Sycamore and North Market.

          A check found that the driver, 26-year old Jason Alan Branch of Brenham had an invalid driver’s license.  He was arrested for that offense but the police officer suspected he had drugs in the car.  He called in the K-9 Unit, “Sammy” to sniff out any drugs.  The dog found two small bags of marijuana. 

          Branch was then arrested for possession of marijuana in a drug free zone because the arrest occurred within a thousand feet of the First Baptist Church.
