EARLY CHILDHOOD LEARNING CENTER STUDENTS COLLECT PAJAMAS

The students at Brenham Early Childhood Learning Center have been collecting pajamas all month for the 9th Annual Great Bedtime Story Pajama Drive sponsored by Scholastic Book Clubs.

ECLC Principal Toni Schwartz said, “This was the perfect opportunity for our students to be directly involved with our Core Value of the month, which is generosity. They have been learning about making someone’s day by giving something away.”

Since 2009, classrooms nationwide have collected and donated over 600,000 pajamas to at-risk children through Pajama Program, and Scholastic Book Clubs has matched that number by donating nearly one million books.

The Brenham Early Childhood Learning Center students collected 62 pairs of pajamas to benefit the Pajama Program, thanks to the idea and efforts of ECLC teacher Krista Tierce.

Tierce said, “This year has been the perfect opportunity to show our students how it feels to give something away instead of receiving it. It truly warms my heart to see how proud they are of each other and themselves. I am so thankful to all the staff, families, and students who made this all possible.”
