EARLY VOTING BEGINS TODAY

  

Early voting begins today (Monday) for the runoff election in Washington County.

One local seat is up for grabs – the Republican nomination for County Commissioner in Precinct One between incumbent Zeb Heckmann and challenge Don Koester.

The winner will face Democrat Lewis Houser in the November general election.

According to County Clerk Beth Rothermel, early voting will run today (Monday) through Friday, with no weekend voting scheduled.  Election Day is Tuesday, May 24th.

There are three state-wide races on the Republican ballot: Railroad Commissioner between Gary Gates and Wayne Christian; Judge for Court of Criminal Appeals Place 2 between Ray Wheless and Mary Lou Keel; and Judge for Court of Criminal Appeals Place 5 between Scott Walker and Brent Webster.

On the Democratic ballot, the lone race is for Railroad Commissioner between Cody Garrett and Grady Yarborough.
