EARLY VOTING FOR SNOOK ISD BOND ELECTION BEGINS
Early voting begins today (Monday) for Snook ISD’s $7.5 million bond election.
Money from the bonds would be used for a variety of projects for Snook schools, including $2.38 million for a new football stadium with an eight lane tract. $1.1 million would go toward new career and technology classrooms and a fine arts classroom; up to $500,000 for a new softball field; $500,000 for a cafeteria expansion to add 50-70 more seats; $750,000 for a better maintenance building area, classroom and record storage; $500,000 for a concession and restroom facility; $375,000 for a new 300 car parking area east of FM 2155; $250,000 for covered bus parking; $125,000 for a parking lot behind the school; $100,000 for baseball field renovations; $225,000 for a new weight room; and $70,000 for locker room renovations.
Snook Superintendent Brenda Krchnak says the District is looking at a maximum tax increase of 15 cents to pay for the bonds. For a home valued at $66,556….the average home value in Snook ISD…the annual increase in taxes would be $62.33, or $5.19 per month.
