EARLY VOTING UNDERWAY IN PRIMARIES

  

Early voting has begun for the March primary.

There are a number of local races on the Republican ballot, including: State Representative, County Judge, Precinct Two County Commissioner, Court-at-Law Judge and Precinct Four Constable.

The Democrats’ ballot does not include any local races.

In the race for District-13 State Representative, five candidates are vying for the Republican nomination: Ben Leman, Daniel McCarthy, David Stall, Jill Wolfskill and Marc Young.  The winner will face Democrat Cecil Webster in November.

In local races, County Judge John Brieden faces challenger John Durrenberger; County Court-at-Law Judge Eric Berg faces Robbie Gail Charette; Precinct-2 County Commissioner Luther Hueske faces challenger Candice Bullock; and for Precinct 4 Constable, Greg Rolling faces H.C. “Buddy” Riddle.

Early voting will take place at the Washington County Courthouse Annex through March 2nd, Monday-thru-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., this Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., an Sunday from noon to 3:00 p.m.

Election Day is Tuesday, May 6th.

County Clerk Beth Rothermel says her office is expecting a big turnout.
