ELDERLY CALDWELL MAN KILLED IN COLLISION WITH SCHOOL BUS
An elderly Caldwell man is dead after an accident involving a Caldwell ISD school bus.
95-year old Delbert Lightsey was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, along Highway 21, about two miles west of Cooks Point.
According to DPS troopers, Lightsey was driving a pickup that rear-ended the bus just after 4:00 p.m. The bus had just dropped off several students.
A DPS spokesman says there were 11 students still on the bus at the time of the crash. The bus driver was taken to a Caldwell hospital.
One student was taken to the hospital by ambulance. The others were taken by parents.
Troopers say none of the students appeared to be seriously injured.
