EVENTS LISTED FOR WEEK 3 OF ROUND TOP MUSIC FESTIVAL

  

The Round Top Music Festival is kicking off another week’s worth of classes and concerts.

This third week of events begins with Young Artists Chamber Music Groups, today (Monday) from 1:30 to 3 p.m.  Tomas Cotik will host a violin master class tomorrow (Tuesday), with a clarinet master class on Wednesday and a cello master class on Thursday.  All master classes are held at the Edythe Bates Old Chapel, and are open to the public, free of charge.

Saturday is slated as a day honoring women in the arts, featuring work from composer Joan Tower.  It will offer three concerts, with the first being held in the Edythe Bates Old Chapel, starting at 1:30 p.m., and the second starting at 3:30 p.m. in the Festival Concert Hall.  The Texas Festival Orchestra at 7:30 p.m. will be conducted by Michelle Merrill, and will feature work from Tower, as well as Béla Bartók.  Violist Brett Deubner and Flutist Carol Wincenc will join the orchestra in the performance.

All concerts and master classes are held on the Festival Hill Campus at 248 Jaster Road, in Round Top.  Tickets are available online at festivalhill.org.
