EXPIRED INSPECTION STICKER LEADS TO POT BUST

An expired inspection sticker led to a traffic stop Monday morning and that traffic stop led to an arrest for marijuana possession.

Sgt. Curtis Schoen of the Brenham police department made the stop in the 2300 block of South Austin, when he observed a late model silver Dodge passenger car headed southbound with an expired inspection sticker.

Sgt. Schoen ran a check for insurance that showed the policy had expired and the driver, 32-year old Jack Don Teague had been recently arrested on drug charges. Sgt. Schoen asked for permission to search the car and that search found a gray back pack with a small amount of marijuana inside. Teague was arrested.
