A popular performer is returning to the Simon Theater next week.
Famed pianist Ezra Charles will perform “The Story of Boogie Woogie” at the Barnhill Performance Center on Saturday, June 23.
Charles says he’s looking forward to coming back to Brenham.
Charles, along with his son, Jakob Helpinstill, will perform a two-hour-long concert, monologue and comedy show. Charles calls it a “theatrical presentation” that covers the history and importance of “Boogie Woogie,” along with some interesting factoids.
Charles intends to recreate the excitement of this old Americana art form, and is happy to honor history.
The event will start next Saturday at 7 p.m., at the Barnhill Performance Center at the Historic Simon Theater. For more information, contact the Performance Center at 979-836-6980.
