FAITH MISSION AND SALVATION ARMY PARTNER TO PROVIDE SUMMER CAMP

Faith Mission is partnering with the Salvation Army to provide summer camp for local children.

Each year. Faith Mission- which serves as the service unit for Salvation Army-has provided the ability for over 40 kids from Washington County to attend Camp Hoblitzelle in Midlothian, TX.

This year's camp will be Monday, June 26th through Saturday, July 1st. The camp serves boys and girls ages 10-12. Registration has officially opened.

Camp Hoblitzelle is a part of the Salvation Army's worldwide Christian evangelist ministry to share God's love with others by encouraging them to explore, discover, and appreciate nature.

The camp provides a quality Christian camping experience in a peaceful setting; furnishing opportunities for fun, adventure, and fellowship through social and recreational activities.  These activities include: swimming, canoeing, horseback riding, fishing, archery, hiking, basketball, soccer, kickball, bike riding, ropes courses, and much, much more.

All activities are supervised by well trained staff who ensure each child has a fun and safe time.

Ms. Qwynetta Foster is in here 4th year as Camp Coordinator.  “This is such a great opportunity for youth  to spend a week away from home having fun, meeting new people, and learn about and many accepting Jesus Christ for the first time in their lives” says Foster. "We welcome any families who would like to attend, but it is a first come first serve basis, because there are only 40 slots."

Rev. Randy Wells, Executive Director of the Mission says "it is such a pleasure to see kids from all walks of life learning about Jesus Christ on a beautiful 100+ acre ranch, with morning and evening Vespers at an outdoor amphitheater overlooking a lake.  Some of the kids attending have never been outside the county line."

Faith Mission also partners with Brenham Housing Authority (BHA) to allow their youth to participate.  Several youths from across the state of Texas participate at the weeklong camp, and over the years several (BHA) youth have won top camp awards ranging from Bible Student of the Week to Camper of the Week.

To register through BHA contact Mrs. Nelda Wells at 979.836.9221 ext. 110 and non BHA residents can contact Ms. Foster at Faith Mission 979.830.1488.

Mandatory parent orientation will be conducted Saturday, May 6th, 2017 at the Washington County Health and Service Center 100 S. Chappell Hill St. Brenham from 10am-11am.
