FAITH MISSION HOSTS INTERNS IN ANNUAL PROGRAM

For the 9th year in a row, Faith Mission in Brenham is participating in an internship program in conjunction with Prairie View A&M University.

As the future social workers get prepared for the "real deal", Faith Mission sponsored four students in a summer internship for tough, real world experiences and training.

This summer, Prairie View A&M University sent four senior social work majors to complete a 10 week, 400 hour internship.  The interns are Lindzy Monroe from Kansas City Kansas, Jalen Weatherspoon from Jasper Texas,  Sharnecia Waldon from Austin Texas, and lastly Lamesha Collins from Clearwater Texas.

While the students are here, they will be getting experience  in case management/counseling,  health services with the Community Health Clinic and Medical Assistance Program, and youth programs which include going to Camp Hoblitizelle and the 6 week SMART (Science, Math, Art, Reading, Technology) Program.

The four students are under Rev. Randy Wells who serves as the Executive Director of Faith Mission, and he is also the field placement supervisor for seven universities such as; Prairie View A&M University, Texas A&M University, Abilene Christian University, Texas State University, The University of Texas, University of Houston and Blinn College.

Since 2007 Faith Mission has managed to be excellent training grounds for many institutions, interning over 30 students.
