FATAL ACCIDENT NEAR GIDDINGS
One person is dead while another is critically injured in an afternoon accident Monday on Highway 290 in Lee County.
The accident occurred just before 3:00 p.m. just over a mile west of Giddings.
The Department of Public Safety has confirmed that one person has been pronounced dead at the scene, while a second victim was Star-Flighted to Breckenridge Hospital in Austin.
The identities of the victims have not been released.
