The Fayette County Sheriff’s office has confiscated over $800,000 worth of methamphetamine following a traffic stop late last week.

Friday, Deputy Sgt. Randy Thumann and K9 partner Lobos stopped a vehicle on I-10 for a traffic violation.

20-year old Gerardo Coronado Jr. of Del Rio gave Thumann consent to search the vehicle.

Lobos alerted to the presence of narcotics in the center console.  A compartment was discovered, containing 20 packages of methmphetamine with a street value of approximately $800,000.

Coronado was arrested for felony drug possession and booked into the Dan R. Beck Justice Center.
