FAYETTE CO. S.O. ARRESTS SAN ANTONIO MAN–NETS $30,000
A San Antonio man is in custody in Fayette County after his arrest Tuesday.
41-year old Richard Martinez is charged with Money Laundering and Unlawful Possession of a Criminal Instrument.
Sheriff Keith Korenek reports Narcotics Canine Unit, Sgt. Randy Thumann and his K9 partner “Lobos”, stopped Martinez on Interstate 10 for a traffic violation.
Thumann conducted an exterior sweeps of the vehicle using “Lobos” and discovered inside the seat back was approximately $30,000 dollars in U.S. currency.
Sgt. Thumann and Lobos also located two aftermarket electronic compartment’s built into the dash of the vehicle.
Martinez was transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center where he is in custody.
