FAYETTE CO. S.O. MAKES TWO WEAPONS ARRESTS
Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports a pair of weapons arrests in two separate traffic stops, Tuesday.
Just after 10:30, Tuesday morning, Officer David Smith pulled over a west-bound vehicle on I-10 near Flatonia on a traffic violation.
Smith says the vehicle smelled of marijuana and a search turned up a 9-millimeter handgun along with a bag of marijuana.
29-year old Hector Enrique Mojica-Phipps of Orlando, Florida was arrested and charged with Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.
Just before 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, Deputy Michael Otten stopped a 2015 GMC Terrian that was reported stolen out of San Antonio.
The driver, 19-year old Mikayla Lynn Rose Fleener of San Antonio was arrested on a charge of Unauthorized use of a Motor Vehicle.
Fleener was also charged with Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon, when a 9-millimeter hand gun was found.
Fleener was taken to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center.
