FAYETTE CO. SHERIFF INVESTIGATING MURDER NEAR LEDBETTER
A murder investigation is under way in Fayette County.
Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that at round noon on Monday his office received a 911call reporting a female and child lying on the floor of a home on US Highway 290 in Ledbetter, covered in blood.
Sheriff’s Deputies, EMS from Giddings, and Ledbetter Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene.
Upon arrival on the scene Deputies were advised of a child being transported by Giddings EMS to Dell Children’s Hospital in Austin.
19-year old Justice Martinez was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputies are looking for, what they call, a Person of Interest who lives in Austin.
Information was relayed to Law Enforcement in Austin for assistance with locating the Individual.
Assisting in the Investigation was Texas Ranger Brent Barina.
An autopsy was ordered by Fayette County Justice of the Peace in Precinct 2 Sheila Coufal.
This case is currently under investigation.
When will the killing stop! Now another mother from that community is going to have to start the journey of grief. Domestic Violence is stealing your citizens in Fayette County so what are you doing to end the violence?
sad… another young mother murdered by the man they loved. I wish people would take domestic violence seriously. He had abused her in the past and did so again recently and that is why she left him. Some people continue to excuse Violent behavior with it just being jealousy from their significant other. Its not cute and its not LOVE…LOVE DON”T HURT AND IT DEFINITELY doesn’t KILL!!! What a Coward to murder a woman for leaving him and even more so for attempting to murder a child!!! Then takes the easy way out and kills himself at his apartment in North Austin on Monday afternoon and makes a big o scene threatening to shoot himself after hours of Swat and the negotiator trying to talk him out of the apartment he ends his own life…. nothing can excuse what he has done… he obviously had mental/anger issues to do something like this…. Ladies and Gentleman if you have a ex or current partner that is violent LEAVE NOW!!!! its not normal behavior AND ITS NOT WORTH LOSING YOUR LIFE OVER IT OR ENDANGERING YOUR LOVED ONES !!!! RIP JUSTICE MARTINEZ AND MY CONDOLENCES TO HER FAMILY…may the Lord touch and guide the hands of the surgeons trying to save her childs life.
