FAYETTE COUNTY DEPUTIES MAKE TWO DRUG ARRESTS OVER THE WEEKEND

  

Fayette County Deputies made two drug arrests on Sunday near Schulenburg. police-lights-feature

In the early morning hours on Sunday, Deputy Kenn Kretz went to check on a vehicle stopped in the roadway on US Highway 90 near Schulenburg.  Kretz contacted the driver and was informed he had ran out of gas after getting lost on his way home.  Kretz observed that there was drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. A subsequent search revealed that 27-year-old James Pickett of Moulton was in possession of marijuana and methamphetamine. Pickett was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Later that morning, Deputy Rick Bohlmann stopped a vehicle for speeding on Interstate 10 near Schulenburg. When he approached the car, Bohlmann detected a strong odor of marijuana and observed partially smoked marijuana cigarettes in the ashtray. Bohlmann conducted a probable cause search which revealed additional marijuana. The driver, identified as 19-year-old Dylan Barnett of New Berlin, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, less than 2 ounces.
