FAYETTE COUNTY DEPUTY AND K-9 MAKE DRUG SEIZURE

On Tuesday at approximately 10:30am, Sheriff Keith Korenek reports a.m., the Fayette County Sheriff’s  Office Narcotics Canine Unit Deputy Randy Thumann and his K-9 partner Lobos stopped a GMC Denali truck on interstate 10 for a traffic violation.

After contact with the driver, several criminal indicators were observed and consent to search the vehicle was obtained.  Deputy Thumann suspected the vehicle was being used to transport illegal narcotics.

Thumann removed the bed of the truck and removed 36 bundles of marijuana weighing approximately 107 pounds from inside the fuel tank of the vehicle.

Forty-one year old Hugo Cesar Garcia of Edinburg was arrested and charged with Possession of Marihuana.
