Fayette County fire departments responded to four separate grass fires on Saturday.fire isolated over black background

A grass fire believed to be started by a controlled burn set fire to approximately ten acres on Halamicek Loop in Fayetteville. The Fayetteville and Round Top Fire Departments responded to it and extinguished the fire without incident.

The La Grange Fire Department responded to two fire calls. The first grass fire was located in a corn field off of Belota Walla Road. The fire was determined to also be caused by a controlled burn. The La Grange Fire Department also responded to a second call which reported a grass and brush fire off of State Highway 71 east.  Authorities say it was started by a lawnmower.

A third grass fire was started by another controlled burn off of State Highway 71 near Orine Road. The Ellinger Fire Department responded and the fire was extinguished without incident.
