FAYETTE COUNTY MAKE ANOTHER DRUG BUST

  

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that on Thursday July 9, at approximately 7:45 a.m. the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Canine Unit stopped a Ford Expedition pulling a trailer on Interstate 10 at the 657 mile-marker for a traffic violation.

After contact with the driver was made, several criminal indicators were observed and consent to search the vehicle was obtained. Sgt. Randy Thumann deployed his canine “Lobos” to conduct and exterior sweep of the vehicle. “Lobos” alerted to the exterior of the vehicle.

Sgt. Thumann observed several discrepancies in the construction of the trailer in the area “Lobos” alerted.  After further investigation, 22 kilos of Heroin was removed from the frame of the trailer. The street value of the Heroin is approximately 2.2 million dollars.

Sgt. Thumann arrested and charged the driver, thirty-one year old  Jose Flores of Tamaulipas, Mexico and a female passenger, twenty-six year old  Isela De Ita of Mexico with possession of a controlled substance.

Both individuals were transported to the Fayette County Jail where they were released to jail staff.
