FAYETTE COUNTY NARCOTICS K-9 SEIZES 7 KILOS OF METH
A 49 year old from Royal City Washington was arrested in Fayette County for felony possession of a controlled substance.
On Sunday at 11:00am, Sgt. Randy Thumann and K9 partner “Lobos”, encountered Manuel Alvarez at the rest area on IH-10 near Flatonia.
After speaking with the driver, Sgt Thumann became suspicious of Alvarez and was eventually given consent to search the truck. Sgt. Thumann observed several indicators leading to the discovery of Approximately 7 Kilos of meth with a street value of approximately $680,000.
The drugs were located in an aftermarket compartment built into the drive shaft.
Alvarez was arrested and transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center.
