Friday of last week, Fayette County Sheriff’s K9 Lobos discovered $2.3 million in meth hidden in vehicle on I-10.

Consent to search the vehicle was granted by the driver. A vehicle search revealed two aftermarket compartments constructed solely for transporting illegal narcotics. Seven bundles of meth weighing over 50 pounds with an estimated street value of 2.3 million dollars were removed from the compartments.

The driver identified as Jose Reyna (35) of Laredo was arrested and transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center and charged with felony drug possession. The mother and two small children ages 1 and 4 were released.
