FAYETTE COUNTY NOVEMBER SHERIFF’S REPORT

  

Sheriff Keith Korenek reports activities of Fayette County Sheriff Deputies for the month of November 2015. Deputy Rick Bohlmann responded to a residence in the Ammannsville area for a criminal mischief call. Bohlmann also responded to property in the Holman area for an estray livestock call. The livestock was impounded and taken to the Flatonia Livestock Auction.

Deputy Ben Wilson responded to a local business for theft of money. During the investigation the money missing was returned to the sheriff’s office by mail as anonymous. Wilson also responded to an alleged assault which occurred at a residence off of Jurecka Road in the Fayetteville area. After investigation and review by the County Attorney evidence in the case was unsupportive of the allegations made by the complainant and the case was deemed as unfounded. Deputy Marc Bennett responded to an address off of East Parker Road for a reported stolen vehicle. A suspect was identified and a warrant was issued. The vehicle was later recovered in the City of Elgin. Bennett also worked a burglary of a building which occurred on property off of Greens Creek Road where a welder was taken. Sergeant Ron Naumann took a theft report in Fayetteville where a chainsaw was stolen from the bed of a pickup.

Investigator Angela Lala is currently investigating an allegation of sexual abuse of a child in the Round Top area. Investigator Robert Dryden identified a suspect in reference to a tractor being sold without the owner’s permission. The suspect was later apprehended in Burleson County on outstanding warrants originating in Fayette County. Sergeant Charles Jobb took a report of criminal mischief to property off of Sandy Lane where ATV’s were causing damages. Jobb also investigated an inquest at a residence off of FM 2237. Deputy Stevie Nelson and Deputy Terry Guentert responded to a disturbance on Interstate 10 for a disturbance. Two persons were arrested for public intoxication.

Deputy David Smith responded to the Whispering Hill’s facility with other deputies and the Flatonia Fire Department to search for a juvenile which fled from the facility. The juvenile was located and returned to the facility. Deputy Smith also responded to Old Lockhart Road and Davis Road for an abandoned vehicle. The vehicle was impounded as it posed to be a traffic hazard. Deputy Garrett Durrenberger responded to a suspicious vehicle on Camp Luther Hill property. A vehicle was located stuck on the property after causing criminal mischief. A suspect was identified and charges were filed. Durrenberger also responded to Ledbetter for criminal mischief to a vehicle where windows were damaged.

Deputy Daitwan Walker responded to a residence off of Rek Hill Road where a protective order was violated. A warrant was issued and served. Walker also responded to the intersection of FM 609 and Airport Road for an accident. Deputy Darrell Maze conducted a traffic stop on US Hwy 77 near Radhost School Road for an offense of speeding. The driver of the vehicle was found to have been driving while his license was invalid. The driver was arrested. Maze also stopped another vehicle on FM 609 near FM 2237 for an offense of speeding. This driver as well was operating a vehicle while he license was suspended and was arrested.

Deputy Joe Martin responded to La Grange to assist with locating a possible suicidal subject who walked off from a home in the La Grange area. Martin was able to locate the male and he was turned over to La Grange authorities. Deputy Jeremy Castleberry responded to a Village Market in Carmine for a possible mentally ill person. The subject was located and assessed by Castleberry and found not to be a threat to him self or others. Deputy Michael Otten conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle having a defective headlight. The driver of the vehicle did not have insurance, was driving with a suspended license, and had altered the registration sticker to make it appear current. The driver was arrested.

Deputy Kenn Kretz responded to a disturbance in the Kirtley area where one individual was found to have an outstanding felony warrant. Deputy Casey Thumann responded to a disturbance in the Fayetteville area where guns were involved. The case is currently under investigation as property on scene was possibly stolen from another county. Thumann and Deputy Guentert also assisted Bastrop County by stopping a vehicle with a suspect involved in a stabbing. The suspect and vehicle were turned over to Bastrop County authorities.

Jail Administrator Ed Sawyer reports that Fayette County Correction Officers booked in 78 individuals for the month of November and transported 4 individuals to the Texas Department of Corrections Facilities to begin serving time for crimes committed in Fayette County.
