FAYETTE COUNTY REPORTS GRASS FIRE NEAR CISTERN
Tuesday afternoon around 2:01 pm the Fayette County Sheriff’s office received a 911 call reporting a grass and brush fire on St Hwy 95 just north of Cistern.
According to Sheriff Keith Korenek, the Muldoon Fire Department was notified and responded to the scene.
The grass fire had spread in the brush and the Muldoon Fire Department requested Mutual Aid from the Smithville Volunteer Fire Department and the Texas Forest Service for a dozer who responded to the scene and assisted.
The fire was contained, and there were no reported Injuries or structures loss

This is interesting to me as I grew up just Southwest of Cistern; have resided in Brenham since 1982. Cistern is a small community located about halfway between Flatonia and Smithville.
