FEDORA RESIGNS AT NAVASOTA

Just one week after his contract was renewed at special school board meeting, Navasota football Coach Lee Fedora has resigned.

Fedora tells KBTX-TV in Bryan, that the decision was totally his.

In February, Fedora’s contract was not renewed when there was no second to a motion to extend his deal.

A special “emergency meeting” was called two weeks later after massive public backlash.  At that meeting, the board unanimously extended Fedora’s contract.

Fedora has informed Navasota ISD Superintendent Rory Gesch that he felt it was time for a change.

Fedora has not elaborated on any plans for the future.

In 11 seasons in Navasota, Fedora won state championships in 2012 and 2014.  The Rattlers’ football program has averaged 11 wins a season under Fedora.
