FESTIVAL OF TEXAS FIDDLING SATURDAY AT LA BAHIA HALL

  

The second annual Festival of Texas Fiddling will take place this Saturday at the historic La Bahia Hall near Burton.  The festival is a joint effort between Texas Folklife and Texas Dance Hall Preservation.  It brings together master fiddlers from several different genres of music including country, polka, Creole, Tejano, square dance, and Texas swing.  Saturday’s schedule is a mixture of workshops with the masters and performances.

The dance Saturday night features Hot Club of Cowtown.  The band plays a mix of jazz, western swing and traditional folk songs.  Tickets for both the festival and the dance are available online at texasdancehall.org or at the door Saturday. There will be a kickoff party for the festival Friday night at the Stone Cellar in Roundtop. For the full schedule and tickets, go to: http://fiddlefestival.texasdancehall.org/
