FIFTY POUNDS OF POT CONFISCATED BY FAYETTE CO. K-9 LOBOS

  

Fayette County authorities have made another major drug bust with the help of K9 Officer Lobos.

Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that on Friday the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Canine Unit conducted a traffic stop on I-10.

After searching the vehicle approximately 50 pounds of marihuana was discovered in a large ice chest under layers of food, drinks and ice.

Arrested were, the driver, 47-year old Jimmy Newman and 20-year old Arnulfo Rodriguez, both of Rio Grande City, for felony Possession of Marihuana.

A third passenger, 61-year old Homera Tanguma of Rio Grande City was released with charges pending due to severe medical conditions.
