FINAL DAY OF THE WASHINGTON COUNTY FAIR

  

Today (Saturday) is the final day of the 148th annual Washington County Fair.17-washington-county-fair

A busy day of events has been planned for fair attendees. This morning kicks off with Antique Tractor Rides beginning at 8 a.m.

At 8:15, the Livestock and Dairy Judging Contest will take place. The Children’s Petting Zoo, Pony Rides, Country Creations Division, and Country Store open at 9 a.m.

Also opening at 9 a.m. is the Human Hamster Balls and Kiddie Bumper Boats. The Little Wrangler Hay Hauling event will also be held at 9 a.m. in the Entertainment Pavilion.

At 10 a.m. the Texas Mounted Shooters will be in the Rodeo Arena. The Commercial Exhibits Building, Mechanical Bull, and Texas Parts and Wildlife Critter Exhibit will also open at 10 a.m.

The Junior Dairy Show will start at 10:30 a.m. in Barn 3. The Children’s Pet Show will also take place at 10:30 in the Entertainment Pavilion. KTEX's Cactus Ken will be there reporting live for KWHI.

At noon the Heart of America Carnival will open and stay operating until the Fair closes.

Kid’s Pedal Tractor Races begin at 12:30 p.m. K-9 Disc Connected will open at 1 p.m. and the Ag Olympics will be at 2 p.m. in Barn 1.

At 3 p.m. the Superior Champions Youth Auction Reception will take place at the Event Center. Paw Zwahr, the President of the Washington County Fair, says the auction is a new event:

Antique Farm Machinery sponsored Slow Races, Backseat Drive, Circle Race and Teeter-Totter contests will take place at 4:30. The Dujka Brother take the stage from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. At 6 p.m. the Greased Pig and Youth Hay Hauling Contest will take place in Barn 1.

The Rodeo kicks off at 7:30 and will feature the Washington County Calf Scramble and Wild Steer Saddling.

At 9 p.m. Prophet and Outlaws will take the stage for a performance. The Eli Young Band will perform live at  11 p.m.
