FIRE DEPARTMENT CALLED TO BRENHAM NATIONAL BANK FRIDAY

The Brenham Fire Department responded to an automatic alarm at the Brenham National Bank Friday morning at 9:35.  Employees and customers evacuated the building and the heating system was shut off as a precaution.  Brenham Firemen reported that they found a faint smell of smoke inside the building and investigated each floor.  After 45 minutes of searching, no source for the smell was located.  The building was turned back over to the employees and a heating and air-conditioning service company was on the scene to inspect the units.

Brenham Firemen prepare to enter the building.
