FIRE DEPT. RESCUES CHILD STUCK IN SWING
The Brenham Fire Department responded to an unusual call at Fireman’s Park yesterday (Friday) afternoon.
At 4:12 p.m. Friday firemen received a call about a child stuck in a swing at Fireman’s Park. Upon arrival at 100 Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway, firemen found a child stuck in a baby swing in the new playground area near the library. A bolt cutter, dermal tool and tin snips were used to remove the child from the swing, and Washington County EMS checked the child for injuries.
Earlier Friday afternoon at 2:35, Brenham firemen were called to 7337 Blenblythe Road for a grass fire. They assisted the Berlin, Gayhill and Rocky Creek Fire Departments in extinguishing the fire, which burned 35 acres of grass.
