FIRE DEPT. RESCUES CHILD STUCK IN SWING

The Brenham Fire Department responded to an unusual call at Fireman’s Park yesterday (Friday) afternoon.

At 4:12 p.m. Friday firemen received a call about a child stuck in a swing at Fireman’s Park.  Upon arrival at 100 Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway, firemen found a child stuck in a baby swing in the new playground area near the library.  A bolt cutter, dermal tool and tin snips were used to remove the child from the swing, and Washington County EMS checked the child for injuries.

Earlier Friday afternoon at 2:35, Brenham firemen were called to 7337 Blenblythe Road for a grass fire.  They assisted the Berlin, Gayhill and Rocky Creek Fire Departments in extinguishing the fire, which burned 35 acres of grass.
