FIREMEN BATTLE GRASS FIRE NEAR FM 390 AND QUEBE RD.

  

Several county Volunteer Fire Departments along with the Brenham Fire Department were dispatched today (Thursday) to a large grass fire on FM 390 near the intersection with Quebe Road.  Firemen from Gay Hill and Prairie Hill Departments fought the fire from around 3:45 in the afternoon till after 5 PM.  The grass fire was burning in a hay pasture and smoke from the fire caused FM 390 to be closed for a short time.  No word yet as to the total acreage involved.
