FIVE CUBETTE SOFTBALL STANDOUTS SIGN LETTERS-OF-INTENT
Five members of the Brenham Cubette softball team have signed National Letters-of-Intent to play college softball.
Shortstop Brett Kohring signed with Stephen F. Austin; Outfielder Kelly Jurden signed to play both softball and volleyball at Texas Lutheran University; Three Cubettes: Outfielder Shae Harris, Pitcher Meg Morris and Infielder Maddie Weahterly all signed with the University of Texas-Tyler.
Kohring hit .388 this past season with 21runs scored and 28 runs batted in, with 15 doubles, three triples and two home runs.
Jurden hit .448, with a .492 on-base percentage, with 41 runs scored, 21 runs batted in, with six doubles and four triples.
Harris hit .410 with a .484 on-base percentage, 47 runs scored, 23 runs batted in, seven doubles, six triples and four home runs.
Morris was 15-4 in 2016, with an e.r.a. of 2.30, 91 strike outs in 115 innings pitched and a WHIP of 1.25.
Weatherly missed the 2016 season with an injury. In 2015, she hit .421 with 11 runs scored and 14 runs batted in, with eight doubles.
The five will help lead the Cubettes into the 2017 season, beginning in February.
