FLASH FLOOD WATCH ISSUED

  

This morning The National Weather Service issued a flash flood watch for Grimes, Washington, and Burleson counties.

The flash flood watch, which lasts until 7 p.m. tonight, comes just 2 ½ months after historic storms hit the area. Other counties under the flood watch include:  Fort Bend, Jackson, Matagorda, Brazoria, Galveston, Liberty, Colorado, Austin, Waller, Harris, Chambers, Wharton, Walker, San Jacinto, Polk, Montgomery.

The National Weather Service forecast shows that strong but slow-moving cells that may produce several inches of rain during a short period of time.
