FLORES SUPPORTS RYAN FOR HOUSE SPEAKER

Republican U.S. Rep. Bill Flores of Bryan, say he’s not sure yet if he will run for House speaker.

Flores says he’d like to see 2012 vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan of Wisconsin make a bid for the post.

Flores has joined a growing list of House Republicans who would like to see the 45-year-old Wisconsin representative throw his hat into the ring to succeed Rep. John Boehner.

Flores told The Bryan/College Station Eagle that while he is still kicking around the idea of making a run, Ryan would be his first choice.

The Texas Tribune first reported that Flores and another Texas Republican, Mike Conaway of Midland, are positioning themselves to make a run at the vacant speaker spot.
