FORMER BISD PRINCIPAL LOSES BATTLE WITH CANCER

The former principal of the Brenham Elementary School has died.

Robert Fleming lost his fight with cancer earlier this week.  Fleming was 59.

Fleming worked as an educator and administrator at schools across Arkansas and Texas, including the last five years at Brenham Elementary School, up until his retirement this past June.

Brenham ISD Superintendent Walter Jackson issued a statement this (Thursday) morning, in which he described Fleming as, “a kind and generous man who loved his family, church, students and staff.”

Jackson went on to say, “We remember our friend and brother Robert Fleming in the most positive light, and thank him for his dedication to Brenham ISD.”

Fleming also served his country as an officer in the United States Army and was a veteran of Operation Desert Storm.

Fleming was a former mayor pro-tem and city council member in Hewitt, TX.

He served locally as an elder at Champion Fellowship Church in Brenham.

A GoFundMe account has been set up to help his family with funeral expenses at: https://www.gofundme.com/veuvb-robert-wade-fleming-funeral.

An account has also been established at Champion Fellowship and at Brazos Valley Credit Union.  Please put ‘Rob Fleming’ in the memo line.

  1. Mr. Thank you for your educational services. At the Brenham elementary. School. You will be missed

  2. Robert Fleming, he may not have been originally from Brenham but he did belong in Brenham. In those Five years he knew every student and parent (or Grandma/Grandpa) at Brenham Elementary School. Come rain or shine he was out there on the car line. That says a lot for a person in his position (a principal). Heaven has a special place for you. Prayers to your family. May you rest in Peace.
