FORMER BRENHAM MAN ARRESTED ON “SOLICITATION OF A CHILD” CHARGE

  

A California man is behind bars after his arrest by Brenham Police Tuesday night.

24-year old Manpal Singh is charged with On-line Solicitation of a Minor and Distribution or Sale of Harmful Material to a Minor.

Singh was arrested Tuesday night at Jackson Street Park where police say he had gone to meet with a young girl he’d met online and allegedly solicited for sex.

Brenham Police Detective John Snowden says Singh has been under investigation since October of last year.

Snowden and Investigator Joseph Merkley arrested Singh without incident just before 8:00 p.m.

Snowden says Singh is a native of India, who lived in Brenham for a short time before moving to California.

Singh’s total bond on the two charges is $750,000.  He remains in custody.

According to Snowden, the investigation continues.
