The Brenham veterinarian who came under scrutiny after she killed a cat with a bow and arrow is expected to appear before the Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners on Tuesday.

The board has scheduled a final hearing for Kristin Lindsey in Austin. Lindsey created a social media storm when she posted a picture of herself holding a dead cat with an arrow through its head on her Facebook page in April of 2015.

The board had previously voted to revoke Lindsey’s license, however she appealed the ruling to the State Office of Administration Hearings. Two administrative judges recommended Lindsey to be allowed to return to practicing veterinary medicine after one year, followed by four years of regular monitoring and reporting of any complaints against her.

After Tuesday’s hearing, Lindsey will have a 20 day period to request a rehearing if she disagrees with the board’s final decision.

  1. This has been blown way out of proportionn. This whole mess is costing the tax payers $$$$. IMHO it’s just absolutely ridiculous. Kristine is an asset where ever she goes. Why ruin her carrer over a feral cat who could’ve biten someone and gave them rabies, or what ever. Think about the food these feral cats eat, the water they drink. These feral cats carry around all types of dieseases so she actually did us a favor. Godspeed Kristen.

  2. I agree. All this over a cat!! I guess people love to see the destruction of others because it makes them feel better about their own short comings!!!!

  3. Correct me if I am wrong, but was this not a feral cat? There is a bounty given for killing feral hogs. Feral dogs and cats are not just a nuisance the can be rabid. This is a case of social media dictating what a judicial panel should have thrown out immediately.

  4. This saddens me for so many reasons. I am a pet lover and although I don’t agree with her post on FB that appeared her to be bragging about it, it happened. There is no doubt in my heart that she made a decision at the time that she thought was appropriate. I think we can all say we did that at one time or another in our lives. I wish for her that it would be over so that she can mend and heal. If it were my cat that she killed, a sincere and heartfelt apology from her would and should be enough. You don’t go through all the education that she went through without a heart and compassion for animals. Kristen, there are those who forgive and wishing you the best.

  5. Amen LET IT BE first one without sin gets to throw the rock everyone else needs to mind their own bussiness

  6. Taking issue with the statement “final” hearing. As long as you have money for lawyers, it will not be final. Also, a vet testified that the cat on her facebook photo post was not dead. Feel the facts should be emphasized as they are notable.

  7. Enough is enough. This was blown way out of proportion. Let this girl move on with her life. Good luck Kristin.
